From the hottest stars of HGTV to achievable ?do-it-yourself? ideas to the newest designs and products for inside and outside the home from more than 400 exhibitors, North Texas? largest home and garden show rolls into town with a weekend?s worth of shopping, education and entertainment for those who want a little more out of their homes and lifestyles.
HGTV stars will help provide plenty of inspiration and education at the show. Attendees can hear directly from HGTV?s Chip Wade of Designed to Sell and Curb Appeal: The Block, William Moss of Dig In, and Bryan Baeumler of Disaster DIY and House of Bryan. Autograph sessions will follow each appearance. Local experts will also take the stage to provide tips on everything from energy efficiency and de-cluttering to landscaping and natural remedies for common ailments.
Attendees will be inspired by ideas they find in all parts of the show, including ?Gardens of the World,? a 20,000-square-foot display in conjunction with the Texas Nursery & Landscape Association featuring gardens inspired by countries around the world, including Spain, Italy, Mexico and the U.S. This year?s Great Big Texas Home Show focuses on gardens and outdoor living to prove that homes don?t have to be confined to indoor spaces only.
Green, sustainable living is the theme of the two micro homes from Eneract that will be built on-site at Cowboys Stadium for the show. Using sustainable, recycled and reclaimed materials (including crushed beer bottles!), each inexpensive, 160-square foot home with a kitchenette, bathroom with shower and toilet, and living/sleeping area is nicely appointed and shows that living green might just be for you.
Offering the best in culinary delights, the Taste of Home Cooking Stage will satisfy taste buds and provide an energy boost to enjoy the show?s entirety at the largest stadium in the world, Cowboys Stadium. Celebrated local chefs will share their cooking techniques, recipes and delectable food samples while chefs from Cowboys Stadium, including Executive Chef Orazio LaManna and Pastry Chef Katie Rangaram, reveal behind-the-scenes trade secrets to prepare food for the thousands.
America?s favorite ?painter of light,? Thomas Kinkade, will be featured in the Thomas Kinkade Gallery Tour with more than 600 square feet of artwork in a beautiful gallery setting. If attendees are seeking statues to accent their outdoor space, they might be a little surprised by the Original Living Statues which are shockingly human-like! The IKEA Idea Room will also be on display to feature new furniture and fresh ideas. Be a hero to the heroes and shake hands with WWII veterans whose newest mission is to visit the memorials in Washington DC through Honor Flight DFW.
One-day tickets are $12 for adults when purchased online at www.GreatBigTexasHomeShow.com, or $15 on-site. Tickets for children ages 6 to 12 are $6. Children 5 years old and younger get in FREE. Parking is available at Cowboys Stadium for $10.
